MOTHER TONGUE.
ALL THAT WE SEE. A SERIES CREATED DURING LOCKDOWN 2020
‘All that we see,’ is a suite of large-format digital paintings that reflect the touching points from everyday
and every night thoughts, our relationship with each other in the world around us.
Based in a dreamscape of reality, the series is comprised of imagined scenes with flurries of elements entering
as if scattered through dreams with dominating symbolism – but left in a ‘woke early’ state.
MOTHER TONGUE.
Like Odysseus, we journey through life and encounter many fronds of opportunity or challenge unfurling before us.
Just as the symbolic central core of the plant dominating this vanitas painting, we are rooted in our belief,
spiritual or otherwise, that we will fulfil our tasks and arrive at our destination. Where ever that may be.
And, like Georgia O’Keeffe putting herself in an Adobe lifestyle distanced from society and enveloped by
the rugged environment, we are given small but constant reminders of the fragility of the world we are part of.
