DIEGOS VISITOR.
ALL THAT WE SEE. A SERIES CREATED DURING LOCKDOWN 2020
‘All that we see,’ is a suite of large-format digital paintings that reflect the touching points from everyday
and every night thoughts, our relationship with each other in the world around us.
Based in a dreamscape of reality, the series is comprised of imagined scenes with flurries of elements entering
as if scattered through dreams with dominating symbolism – but left in a ‘woke early’ state.
DIEGOS VISITOR encompasses the complex relationship between our lives, our history and where our
thoughts take us in subconsciousness.
Symbolism is never literal in dreams we are told but can provide clues to the links between our worlds.
In this painting, DIEGOS VISITOR, the visual language depicts evolving National unrest, personal conflicts,
sexual fantasy and historic folk ritual. The tumultuous relationship between the artists Diego Rivera
and Frida Kahlo has been plenty documented, but here is explored from the subconscious reflections of
dreamscape and legend.
