A charcoal drawing made with chunky gold and black colours on cartridge paper. This original drawing describes the arrival of Aphrodite at the shoreline of Paphos. We see naked Aphrodite, golden and swimming energetically, accompanied by a dove overhead to signal the imminent scene we are most familiar within renaissance works of this ancient story.
